Are pre-framed components really cheaper? The Wood Truss Council of America sponsored a project in which they built two identical houses, one with traditional stick framing and one with pre-framed components. Their experience was that prebuilding the components reduced man-hours on the job site by an amazing 253 hours. Erecting the components took less than half of the time it took to stick-frame the house.
